50!

But first a little biography…

I was born as the son of Italian immigrants on 1 November 1969 in Zurich. I spent my youth with my older brother Francesco and my parents in Zurich-Altstetten. In Zurich I also completed my entire school education and got to know some of you.

If we know each other from work, this could have been either with the Vita or Zurich Insurance (from 1990 until today) or from the Zurich nightlife, which I was allowed to help shape from 2000-2014 with my Berta Bar. And yes, at times I had two jobs at the same time.

Others of you I would have met via one of my hobbies, e.g. snowboarding, diving, sailing, photography, filming or travelling.

The first 36 years of my I lived  in Zurich (first Altstetten, later Wollishofen) and since 2006 I live with my wife Simona and our two children Lara and Fiona in Erlenbach. So maybe we got to know each other as neighbors or through our children?

And then there is “La Famiglia”! As I said, I am married (2007) and have two children, both girls (9 and 11) and have many relatives, my own and of course those of my wife. Also here many friendships developed!

In one of these ways, or maybe as a chance meeting, we got to know each other at some point during the last 50 years.

Of course there will be a party! Not just anywhere, but on an island in Thailand!

So, if you’ve been looking for an excuse to do a big trip, this is your opportunity! You can escape the cold in winter and celebrate my birthday with me and hopefully many other like-minded people on a dream beach on Ko Kut. Beach Party with drinks, BBQ and Music included!

The idea is admittedly a bit crazy and maybe I will be there almost alone, who knows. But if it still works out,  a colorful group from the past 50 years will come together and have an unforgettable time! You will also get to know my favorite place in Thailand, which is still an untouched gem.

So that as many of you as possible can come, I have moved the party to the sports holidays 2020. The event will take place on the weekend of 15 and 16 February 2020.

With my family I will be on Ko Kut for ca. two weeks (9 – 21 February 2020). You are welcome to arrive earlier and/or leave later, take a beach holiday or combine the party with a round trip or, or, …..? I will also be happy to give you tips on travelling in Asia, as we have been travelling there often and with pleasure for many years.

February has another advantage: because it is not the main travel season, flights and overnight stays are priced reasonably. And it’s not rainy season!

Direct flights from Zurich to Bangkok currently cost from CHF 670 (with connecting flights from CHF 420). A reasonable double room is available on the island from CHF 50 per room per night. Tip: Air fares tend to rise over time. If you can book early, you have an advantage.
